arthur skinner Memorial award

This award is designed to recognise a School Psychologist who has embodied the spirit of Western Australian School Psychologist, Arthur Skinner, who had a significant and long standing contribution to both the profession of school psychology and SPAWA.

The Arthur Skinner Award is presented to a school psychologist who, has embodied the spirit of Arthur through their significant and long standing contribution to both the profession of school psychology and the School Psychologists’ Association of Western Australia.  

The Arthur Skinner Memorial Award acknowledges a School Psychologist who has:  

  • Made a long-term significant contribution to school psychology;  

  • Been instrumental in key changes in the school psychology service and/or systems-level work;  

  • supported the profession of school psychology within education system/s including the professional development of school psychologists;  

  • shown initiative in thinking outside the box that benefit school psychologists; and  

  • supported/ promoted the work of SPAWA.  

The Arthur Skinner Award Winner is nominated and voted on by the SPAWA Committee
